All Australian schools (government, Catholic and independent) are required to collect information from parents on students’ background characteristics for nationally comparable reporting on students’ performance in priority areas of schooling.
What information is required from parents?
- Students: date of birth, gender, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status and Language other than English spoken at home.
- Parents: school education, non-school education, occupation group and Language other than English spoken at home.
