SPORTS ADMINISTRATION (Part Time)
Carinya Christian School is now receiving applications for a temporary, part time, Sports Administration Assistant to commence at our Tamworth School in Term 1 2019.
Working under the direction of the Sports Coordinator, the successful applicant will provide administrative assistance for Carinya’s sporting program from Years K-12.
The Position is 1 day per week from 8:30am to 3:30pm, school Term Weeks only (38 weeks in 2019), for the 2019 school year.
Specifically the Administrative Assistant will be expected to complete the following tasks with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism:
Assist with the registration process for a number of sporting teams throughout the year;
Assist with the creation and distribution of notices and forms for parents and students regarding sport competitions and trips;
Assist in the organisation of sporting events and trips, including zone sport and sports carnivals;
Assist in determining costs and monitoring payments for sporting events and trips;
Scheduling events using the School Administrative Software.
Applicants must be committed Christians of reformed evangelical persuasion. Applicants will be considered based on their experience and/or other relevant qualification.
Personal characteristics and skills considered essential to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of the role include:
Able to work as a member of a team;
Understand how to relate effectively to students from Years K-12;
Be able to work independently when required;
Able to utilise a range of information systems including online administration systems, word processing software, spreadsheets, and databases;
Ability to converse with parents and students about a range of issues regarding sport and matters of school policy;
Comfortable in working with budgets and managing payments via a variety of gateways;
Able to touch type and work with software applications to create professionally presented documents;
Excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation;
Articulate and clearly spoken;
Be able to manage a variety of tasks;
Have the ability to maintain a flexible attitude to daily work flow;
Have the capacity to make appropriate judgments to ensure student safety and welfare;
The Tamworth Christian Education Association operates both Carinya Christian School Tamworth and Gunnedah. Over 550 families, 940 students, and 140 staff make up the Carinya community, with staff working across both schools to share administrative and curriculum resources.
