Only your best is good enough

But your best is always good enough.

Carinya students have many sporting opportunities throughout the school year. Students are encouraged to develop and use their talents to honour Christ, the giver of all gifts, in the way they interact with and compete against others. Throughout the school year, students can participate in a range of local and representative sports. All sporting teams are staffed or coached by qualified teachers, and the standard of sportsmanship that we expect is very high. Students are taught that only their best is good enough - but their best is always good enough.

SPORTING FACILITIES

Carinya Tamworth boasts a wide range of well-maintained sporting facilities, including ovals, courts, an indoor sports centre, and a gym. The ovals are fully irrigated to withstand drought and intensive foot traffic. Practice cricket nets, a cricket pitch, goals for soccer and rugby, perimeter fencing, and sports netting all complement the oval playing areas.

Two fenced courts established for basketball and netball are used for a variety of ball games. Indoor multi-purpose facilities provide flexibility in all weather and cater for indoor football, volleyball and gymnastics. The gym is fully equipped and available to students as part of the before-school Carinya Gym.

REPRESENTATIVE SPORT

Carinya’s affiliation with the Christian Schools Sports Association (CSSA) and the NSW Combined Independent Schools (NSW CIS) Sports Association allows students to compete at Zone and State levels in individual and team sports. Students who are highly successful in their chosen sport can pursue representation via NSW CIS at the National level competitions.

Representative sport involves school-operated overnight trips beyond the Tamworth and Gunnedah regions, which is a highlight for many Carinya students.
