ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT

Carinya Christian School is now receiving applications for the permanent part time position of Administration Support to commence at our Gunnedah School in Term 1 2022.

The Position

Working under the direction of the Business Administrator and in conjunction with other team members, the purpose of the Administration role is to support the daily operations of the Gunnedah School by performing a large variety of roles and functions.

This is a permanent part time position, from 8:00am to 4:30pm, for school term weeks only (40 weeks per year). Applicants are welcome to indicate their preference to work between 2 to 5 days per week.

The Administration Support role is responsible for a wide variety of functions in supporting the operations of the school.

Reception

  • Greeting visitors and providing a first response to their inquiry

  • Answering phone calls and directing those calls

  • Scheduling appointments on behalf of the Principal or Heads of School

Clerical Duties

  • Responding to inquiries and managing email, sms and other correspondence

  • Proofing and editing reports and documents

  • Filing and organising

Student Administration

  • Completing daily attendance requirements via the school administration system, including arrangements for students signing in and out of the school and confirming student attendance status with parents

  • Recording and managing student medical information

  • Providing First Aid to students, including the administration of medication in accordance with the students medical care plan, and liaising with parents when medical care is required

  • Assisting with the production and distribution of student academic reports

General Administration

  • Purchasing consumables and other supplies to support the operations of the school as directed and in accordance with the schools purchasing policy

  • Ensuring that the reception, sick-bay, printing and other administration related spaces are kept tidy and organised

  • As directed assist in the preparation of letters, student reports and newsletters to be sent to the school community

  • Receive uniform orders from parents and distribute uniform orders on occasion

  • Support the organisation and operation of school functions

  • Other tasks to support the operation and administration of the school as directed by the Business Administrator or Principal.

Applicants must be committed Christians of reformed evangelical persuasion. Personal characteristics and skills considered essential to successfully fulfill the responsibilities of the role include:

The School

The Tamworth Christian Education Association operates both Carinya Christian School Gunnedah and Tamworth. Over 650 families, 1020 students, and 190 staff make up the Carinya community, with staff working across both schools to share administrative and curriculum resources. Carinya Gunnedah is a Prep to Year 10 co-educational school. The school has a strong academic profile and a broad extra curricular program.
