Dynamic & diverse; education for the real world!
Senior School @ Carinya Tamworth
At Carinya, children are taught that life has meaning, purpose and direction, because there is a Creator who made each one of us in His own image. We tell each student that they matter because they have been made on purpose by God to know Him and to serve Him. They need never despair of life, or lose hope and direction because they matter in eternity. There really is a purpose in life and learning at school, in all its forms, as it continually shows more and more of the God who made them and how they can serve Him. Like every other aspect of life, education has meaning and direction because God is real and can be known.
The Senior School provides students in Years 9 to 12 with a teaching and learning environment which addresses their personal and educational needs, as they begin to consider their post school vocational options or further education.
The Senior School is characterised by a strong and purposeful work ethic. Students are expected to be faithful in their studies, complete all their academic work to the best of their ability and maintain a Satisfactory Academic Profile. Senior School students are expected to conduct themselves in the school at large, such that they uphold the integrity of the school and model qualities of leadership and service to younger students.
Years 9 and 10 students enjoy a dynamic and diverse personal and academic environment, which encourages them to develop their academic skills, as well as explore and interact with the world God has made.
The curriculum is based on the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography and PDHPE. This supplemented by a substantial elective offering, encompassing:
