GENERAL HAND OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
Carinya Christian School is seeking a Temporary Full-Time general hand to join the Tamworth Operations and Maintenance Team.

THE POSITION
The General Hand will support the smooth running of school operations and contribute to the maintenance of the school grounds and buildings. This role requires an eagerness to provide assistance and support in a large variety of areas, strong self-motivation, an excellent work ethic, and attention to detail.
The overarching duties of the position are listed below. This list is not a comprehensive list of tasks but highlights the areas of responsibility for the role.
General Operations
Distribution of deliveries
Movement of furniture, equipment, and other resources
Setting up and packing down of School spaces for events, exams, and other events as required
Responding to incidental requests from administrative, teaching and executive staff to solve immediate issues (i.e. stray dogs on site)
Transporting students in relation to local excursions
Maintenance
Mowing, gardening, painting, and small maintenance tasks appropriate to the successful applicants skills
Ensuring the ongoing cleanliness of the School ground while conducting normal duties
Assisting with cleaning of buildings, classrooms, and grounds as required
Assisting other activities in Maintnenace and Projects as directed
Vehicles
Ensuring school vehicles are clean and ready for school use as required
Book vehicle servicing, registration, and repairs as required
Acting as a driver on out of area excursions to support the work of teaching staff
General
Act in an ethical manner
Maintain confidentiality of data
Time management skills to meet deadlines
Calm and friendly demeanour with all staff, parents and stakeholders
Comply with Workplace Health and Safety policies and take reasonable care of your own safety and those around you
Complete other duties within your area of skills and abilities as required by your manager. Some work at the Gunnedah school may be required.
The position holder reports to the Maintenance Manager.
THE APPLICANT
The smooth operation of our school is a very important aspect of Carinya and this position requires a hard workers with an eye for detail. Self-motivation is a must as the applicant will largely work alone. Applicants must be committed Christians of reformed evangelical persuasion.
