Promotions Support Officer or Trainee

Carinya Christian School is now receiving applications for a permanent part-time (3 days) Promotions Support Officer to commence in 2024 at Carinya Tamworth.

  • Based in Tamworth, the objective of this part-time role is to support the Promotions Coordinator in promoting Carinya’s core values of Christ, Community, and Discovery to the New England and Northwest regions, creating brand awareness and continuing to develop, clarify and enhance the Carinya Brand throughout the New England and Northwest regions.

    This role is offered to an applicant with qualifications in promotions or someone that desires to join the team in a trainee capacity, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn how to:

    • Operate and capture photos & videos with a DJI Mavic 3 drone

    • Film & edit videos using DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro

    • Capture & edit photos using Adobe Lightroom

    • Design graphics, Magazines & more with Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Lightroom through hands on training and courses paid for by Carinya

    • Develop social media schedules and engaging content

    • Create and deliver targeted advertising through social media platforms such as Instagram & Facebook

    • Use web development platforms such as Squarspace & Wix

  • Christian Leadership

    Applicants must be committed Christians of reformed evangelical persuasion. As an independent Christian School, the school’s purpose is to provide a Christ-centred learning environment. To be able to support the purpose of the school, it is a requirement that Administrative Support staff:

    • Affirm and practice the Christian Faith, including attendance at a church

    • Affirm and adhere to the first 20 Chapters of the Westminster Confession of Faith

    The Promotions Support Officer role is offered to both qualified applicants or someone looking to further their media skills as a trainee.

    • Education or equivalent experience in Promotions

    • Strong skills and previous experience in using a broad range of word processing, design, and media production software

    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    • Demonstrated commitment to providing a high level of client service to our school community

    • Ability to work as an individual but also partner effectively as part of a team to create a smooth workflow and stronger outcomes

    • Previous experience/skills in photography and videography

  • Reporting to the Promotions Coordinator, the successful applicant will be required to fulfil the following responsibilities:

    Social Media

    Act as the Administrator for Carinya Social Media platforms, adhering to the Carinya social media schedule, which includes but is not limited to:

    • Capturing Photos of school operations & creating captivating posts

    • Capturing video content & creating short clips and engaging posts

    • Researching the latest trends / most effective ways to promote on social media

    School Website

    In conjunction with the Promotions Coordinator, Business Manager, and with the input of the School Executive, develop and maintain the Carinya website which is recognised as the main tool used by the broader community to access information about education at Carinya. This includes:

    • Reviewing and updating content with the input of the School Executive on a regular basis to ensure currency.

    • Ensuring the website is maintained so as to maximise its accessibility via multiple platforms.

    • Developing aspects of the website to promote the key distinctions of Carinya

    Merchandise, Promotional Products, Design

    In collaboration with the Promotions Coordinator, select, design and produce products and signage for promotional purposes, including:

    • Products given to prospective enrolments

    • Products given to students (e.g. Year 12 engraved pens and Student Leader Badges)

    • Directional Signage

    • Banners for events and functions

    • Business Cards

    • Vehicle Signage

    • Contribute toward the selection & design of colours & finishes for internal and external spaces

    Document Production

    Supporting the many areas of the school to design and produce documents intended for distribution to the school parent body or associated entities. The Promotions Support Officer is not expected to author the content for these documents but rather ensure that these documents are Carinya branded and professionally produced in a consistent manner. Examples of these documents include:

    • School Prospectus

    • Editable PDF forms

    • Employment Application packages

    • Flyers, Posters

    • Fees Information

    • Letterhead templates

    Other tasks to support the operation and administration of the school as directed by the Promotions Coordinator, Business Manager or Principal.

    Additional tasks may include:

    • Carinya Connect Magazine. Design and production

    • Visual Media (Photos and Video) recording and production

  • Full time Starting salary range $61,695 - $70,260

Benefits

Support and Operational Staff at Carinya are employed under the Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement.
Depending upon the applicant's prior experience, the position will be classified as Clerical and Administrative Level 1 or 2.
