RAYWOOD DRIVE DROP OFF AND PICK UP

During the holidays, some changes were made to the drop off and pick up area on Raywood Drive. These road works are nearly completed, and will be operating from the beginning of Term 3. Please take time to read through these details so that you are aware of how the new pick up and drop off area will operate.

New Drop Off and Pick Up Lane

A dedicated drop off and pick up lane has been created, and fencing and bollards have also been installed. The kiss and drop zone at the top of Raywood Drive has been removed and replaced with the pick up lane.

Signage has been placed around the new area so that parents are aware of what they need to do and where they need to park. Unfortunately the permanent fencing will not be in for the start of the term, and temporary fencing has been installed. We expect the fencing to be in place by the end of the first week of term.

In the Morning

During morning drop off, parents who are simply dropping their children off should enter the dedicated drop off lane and stop at the drop off area (there is space for 2 cars). Children should exit the car quickly and move up the path and into the school. Parents then need to give way to any oncoming cars and merge back onto Raywood Drive and continue on their journey.

Parents who are dropping children off and escorting them into the school, should park in one of the car parks available on Raywood Drive or the Overflow Carpark.

In the Afternoon

Parents collecting Junior School children only will continue to follow the pick up procedures that are currently in place. Parents must park and come to collect their children from the Junior School pick up area from 3:00pm.

A boom gate has been installed at the entry to the dedicated pick up lane. This will be opened from 3:12pm for parents who are collecting older students. The boom gate will be closed before this time, and parents arriving early will need to park their car. Parents must not wait at the entrance to the pick up lane, as this could cause unnecessary traffic congestion.

Students will meet at the Student Pick Up Assembly Area ready for collection. When parents arrive at the Pick Up Assembly Area students must move quickly into cars - staff will be on hand to supervise. Once collected, parents need to give way to any oncoming cars and merge back onto Raywood Drive and continue on their journey.

If students are not at the Student Pick Up Assembly Area when parents arrive, parents must move out of the pickup area and either park in the Overflow Carpark, or head back to the roundabout on Raywood Drive and return to the pick up lane again. Parents will not be permitted to sit and wait for students who are not present at the pick up area.

These changes will hopefully improve the safety for students being collected and improve the flow of traffic at the busy morning drop off and afternoon pick up times.

A diagram has been included to explain the new arrangement. Staff will be on hand to monitor the changes and will make any adjustments as needed.
